Robert Moses Causeway Closures 4/25-4/28 & 5/2-5/5
The New York State Department of Transportation would like to advise you that there will be weekend closures of the southbound Robert Moses Causeway, in the Town of Islip, in Suffolk County.
Weather permitting, the southbound Robert Moses Causeway at the interchange with Ocean Parkway will have the following closures, to facilitate maintenance to the bridge at the interchange.
On Friday, April 25, one southbound lane will be closed between the Great South Bay Bridge and Ocean Parkway between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m.
Beginning at 9 p.m. on Friday, April 25 until 5 a.m. on Monday, April 28, all southbound lanes will be closed at the bridge over Ocean Parkway. Motorists should follow the signed detour onto westbound Ocean Parkway for approximately one mile, bear left onto the Turnaround near Oak Beach for eastbound Ocean Parkway to return to the Robert Moses Causeway.
Similar closures will occur on the following weekend:
On Friday May 2, one southbound lane will be closed between the Great South Bay Bridge and Ocean Parkway between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m.
Beginning at 9 p.m. on Friday, May 2 until 5 a.m. on Monday, May 5, all southbound lanes will be closed at the bridge over Ocean Parkway. Motorists should follow the signed detour onto westbound Ocean Parkway for approximately one mile, bear left onto the Turnaround near Oak Beach for eastbound Ocean Parkway to return to the Robert Moses Causeway.
A travel advisory will be sent out later today.
